The project's lifetime is four years and is financed by the European Union. The project focuses on the introduction of new financial mechanisms to protect biodiversity in the Natural Reserve of Gilé, in Northern Mozambique.

After months of meticulous planning for this project, in the month of October 2016, the on-site research started. Antonio Guiso from CarbonSink travelled to Gilé, Mozambique, to start the baseline of the project. In the period that he stayed in Gilé, 100 families were asked to answer a survey with questions like, for example: Where they cook, what they use to cook, how many times a day they cook, how long it takes them to cook, etc. This information gathered, will help CarbonSink select the appropriate efficient cookstove for this area adapting it to the environment, customs, economy, and culture of these families in need.
